Xero landed lightly on the ground. "As far as I know, if I made a specific crystal like such, I could turn myself invisible, but there are limitations to my power. Limitation 1: I can't change my or anyone elses body. Limitation 2: So far, most of my crystals are one use only, except for the ones that only give off light or the ones that aren't magical. Limitation 3: Making a crystal I've never made before takes intense concentration and takes a long time, even though afterwards it's easier. And Limitation 4: So far, I can't make Living Crystal, which is a crystalline object that is alive. I've read books about dragon-shaped crystals, about the size of Ist here-" He gestured to the small thumb-sized dragling on his finger. "-that had a life of their own, so I know it's possible."

She smiled. "Well, thats cool." Looking over at the sunset, she smiled. Her feet sank into the sand. Looking over at Kros, sighed, and smiled again.
"I would love to be able to make crystals. They're beautiful."

"That they are." Xero Raelthyw said softly, glad she hadn't asked the question he had feared: Mainly, how had he been able to make that type of crystal with her parents images easily? He wasn't ready for that sort of question... it went too close to his hardened heart.

She could tell that something was troubling him. But, she decided not to ask.
Turning to Kros, she said,"Your scales. They shine so brightly!" She felt them. They tickled her skin. They shimmered in the light.
Her normally gray eyes, had turned sparkly, and green. When she was entranced or extremely happy, they turned green. Her eyes were fixed upon the scales. She didnt know how she would get her eyes off of them.

Xero turned to Kros. "I'm not sure if you would remember this, but don't Merpeople charm people?" He asked casually, trying to subtly point out something that was extremely wrong.

Kros heard Maria's compliment, and a pinkish tinge graced his aqua cheeks. Letting out a gentle hiss/clicking noise, he looked away, liking the compliments, a small smile on his Mer-man features. After hearing Xero, however, he frowned. He thought that since he was still only half mer-man, he'd be able to keep that at bay. With a slight shrug, he effortlessly picked Maria up, slithering towards the water.
"A Ssswim.... Sssomething everyone Neeeeeedsss..."
He said, the slight pink tinge on his cheeks still there.

"I'd suggest not. I don't think water and earth mix very well." Xero said, stepping in between Kros and the water. "I doubt that you are keeping it at bay, even as a halfling." Easily, a crystal appeared in his hands, which he shattered on the ground, and a force shield formed, walling off the water.

Kros let out a hiss, hitting the sheild and dropping Maria.
"Ssshe'sss not made of the earth ssstupid! Ssshe'sss made of flesssh and blood, like usss!"
He hissed, his tail flicking about angrilly. Now his gills opened and closed faster and faster, their source of moisture gone and searching for some form of water in the air. He didn't even bother with Xero's charming comment, not like he was really using it now.
"Now clossse down that wall before I sssuffocate!"
Kros looked at Maria pleadingly, trying to get her to help get rid of the wall blocking the water, and half of what he breathed. Also to get rid of the misconception that she was made of Earth.

"I never said she was made of earth. Her powers relate to earth." Xero said sweetly. "I'll close down the wall when you realize you aren't controlling the charm of the merpeople, even as a halfling."

Kros blue scales now started to take on an unhealthy pale parlour, like of someone cut of circulation to their hand. The gills on his neck were now staining, so that if you looked the right way, you could see straight down his neck. He looked up, a bit more wheezing than usual.
"What... Charm does a... Halfling have?"
He asked in a wheezing gasp, feeling the scales slowly change to skin. In a few moments, where the Mer-man was, Kros lay, limp, even paler than usual, now only in swimming shorts, which revealed a starved figure, not aneorexic, but close to it. Maybe now Xero realised that he nearly murdered someone, despite said person looking like the mer-people.
Taking in gasping breaths of air, Kros used both arms to slowly push himself up, but merley flopped onto his back, like a dying fish, revealing a large, knotted scar that ran from hsi right shoulder to his left hip. His chest moved up and down as he breathed, looking up at Xero, his eyes filled with an unnatrual fear.
"You... You tried to kill me..." He said in a small, scared voice, moving quickly behind Maria, trying to put distance between himself and the man that just tried to starve him of air.
