Kros slowly made his way up to the balcony where Maria was, sort of beside her, but behind her as well.
"At first... I really liked Kairi. She was like me... Calm, shy, different from others... But she never really showed anything that said she liked me back, so I forgot about it... Then I met you, and you set my heart on fire... You were kind, caring, and someone who just took me for who I was. NOw, I jsut really don't know... But please, don't stop liking me because of this whole mess..."
His voice had an edge of pleading in it, even stronger than any other time before.

Maria heard the pleading in his voice. She wanted him, but wanted him to go with Kairi. Turning to him she said,Kros, I love you, but please....I dont want anyone to be hurt. Make your decision.

Kros looked over the balcony down at the dancing Kairi, remembering how sad she was. It would have torn him apart if he had to tell her that he loved Maria more than her. Sighing, he turned to face Maria again.
"Then... I pick Kairi... But promise me Maria.. Promise that you'll still like me, because it would hurt me inside if we stopped being friends..."
He embraced her in a hug, trying to keep a stem of tears from pouring out of his eyes.
"I'll always love you and Kairi both... I'm sorry..."
Then, he kissed Maria. Probably the last kiss they'd ever share, and really the only kiss he'd given Maria. Any of that little lovey-dovey music would have been perfect right about now. After a moment or two, he pulled back, feeling a slight blush come across his cheeks.
"Promise we still be friends?"
He asked again, needing to be completly sure on this.

Maria smiled, glad that he'd choosen Kairi. She wanted her friends to be with who thay belonged. But she was also a little sad.
Well yeah, of course we can still be friends! She laughed and hugged him back. He sweet scent filled her nose for the last time. As he kissed her, she realised it was their last one. Smiling again, she said,Kros, we'll always be friends. How could we not be friends? We make a great team against the monsters in the Holoroom!

Kros smiled, letting go of Maria and blushing a bit.
"Of course we do... We're the best team in that place there is..."

De put his other hand on Kairi's side, and attempted to dance with her. The half-elf was completely oblivious to the events transpiring above them. As they danced, De found himself stumbling a few times, barely avoiding numerousembarassing falls. He was a lot worse than Kairi, in his opinion, so at least she might've made him look a little better. "You aren't that bad a dancer, Kairi. Not as bad as me, at least.", De chuckled, trying to stay in step.
This ball is nice....

Kairi giggled. She was a pretty good dancer.
"I noticed you were having a bit of trouble."
She replied jokingly. Everything she thought about earlier... it was like she completely forgot about it. She was having fun and enjoying the night.

De laughed, commenting, "Hey, I try!" He smiled at Kairi, finally falling into step a bit. It seemed that he had managed to cheer her up, if only for the moment. Slow dancing was getting kind of boring. Time to kick it up a notch. A large stereo appeared next to the beverage table, and a disco ball was conjured, attaching itself to the ceiling.
De let go of Kairi, running over to the stereo. The CD inside read 'Techno Dance Hits Vol. 2'. The half-elf hit play, the music booming over the old music.
Time to dance!

Maria left the balcony, her hand on Kros's shoulder then it fell to her side. She was happy for him. He would be better off with someone not to prone to bad luck. She walked away to a soft couch, and sat down. The flower bush beside her looked a little bit 'sad' so she said,Terivia, and it flurished beautifully.
Her feet tapped to the music, and her head bobbed. But she closed her eyes. She didnt want anyone to come over and think that they could just talk to her.

Xero slowly walked into the Ballroom, walking to lean against the wall. He was wearing his normal black cloak. He figured since he didn't like formal things anyway, it was formal enough. He sighed as he watched everyone.
