Kairi shook her head quickly just like a 5 year old would. She wasn't sure what she wanted. She seated regularly now, sitting right with her feet on the ground, her hand in the fancy, pink glove still clutching that necklace. Kairi noticed the boy trying to look at her, so she turned her head a little. She didn't want him looking into her eyes, into her soul. Her hair fell a bit around her face as she looked down at her feet. What did she get herself into now? She rubbed her eye with the back of her hand again hoping the tears on her cheeks would dry.

De sighed, realizing now that something was definitely wrong. He wanted to cheer up, but how? He was never good with the emotions of others.
If I was upset and a girl, what would I want?
De then noticed the necklace in her hand. Girls loved jewelry, from what De knew. He then thought back to the elf village, trying to remember the jewelry the elf girls wore. Getting the picture in his head, De concentrated hard, causing the necklace to materialize in his right palm.
It was a beautiful necklace, paying homage to the sun and the moon. The necklace consisted of a shimmering gold chain, centering around a large gem. Half of the gem was pink, while the other half was black, matching the alternating pink and black gems around the central one. Smiling, De spoke. "So. You can either take this necklace, which compliments your outfit wonderfully, and go out there and have a good time OR you can sit here and wallow in self-pity, thus ruining your night and putting such a nice dress to waste.", he commented, holding out the necklace to her.
Was I too hard on her?

Kairi started to cry, but she didn't want him to know, so she didn't show her face still... She curled up in a ball in the chair again, burrying her head.
"Nrmff thanmkf mou, irymfd rmmathedf rwnft bekfff heerrym owpn, nyaay-mff."
The muffles were really the words around 'No thank you, I'd rather not be here now, anyway' and after that you could hear some sobbing sounds. She knew she was acting ridiculous, like a little 5 year old girl, but she couldn't help it. She was too shy to talk and she was sensitive, but she could be loving.

It sounded like the girl had said, "No thank you", but he couldn't make anything out past that. De frowned, closing his hand around the necklace, which disappeared as quickly as it came. Sighing, De reluctantly stood up, looking over his shoulder at the girl. "If you're really so determined to be miserable I guess there's nothing I can do about it. But, crying about your problems won't make them go away. You just have to overcome them. I don't know about you, but, I'm going to embrace the night and have fun!", De replied, walking away towards Kameron.
He then conjured a glass of punch. De was now mingle-ready. (( XD )). De then stopped half way, looking at the girl was once more. If she was going to make the choice to be happy, then he would be glad to help cheer her up.

Kairi picked her head up as De left. He was right. She took her hands and lightly patted either side of her face, trying to bring herself back together. She must've looked terrible now though. She got the courage to stand up. She turned around wiping off some of her dress. Kairi took a few steps forward, pausing between every one though making sure to avoid Kros. She did NOT want to talk to him at the moment because he had completely crushed her, and he didn't even know that. She decided to start at getting some punch. She grabbed a cup, but... the stack at once collapsed across the floor!
"Oh no, not now, please!"
she complained, kneeling down trying to pick up all the cups from the marble floor.

De chuckled as the girl dropped the cups on the floor. He then walked over to her, bending over to help her. "I see you're at least trying. You still seem frazzled, though. By the way, my name's Desespoir Revirement. Just call me De.", commented De, setting a few cups back on the table.
((G'night!))

Kairi stood back up slowly after picking up a few of the remaining cups.
"I'm Kairi."
She said, putting her hand on her chest, almost like pointing to herself. Her voice was soft and calm now. Her deep sea blue eyes were looking at him. They sparkled, and it was like you could just drown in them.
"Pleasure to meet you De."

De found himself staring into her eyes, before snapping back to reality. "Likewise, Kairi.", he replied, smiling, "You sound a bit better now, too.". De then switched his cup to his left hand, cupping his right one. A cup of punch identical to the other appeared in his hand. He offered it to Kairi, questioning, "Here you go. Could I ask what's wrong, or, is it personal?".
Each person here seems to have a past as troubled as the next, if not more so. Every student at this school has their own unique story, and by bringing so many different people together, their stories intertwine, creating one of epic porportions. This should prove to be an interesting year...

"Thank you."
she said looking up at him, smiling as she took the cup of punch.
"And it was just... someone. Someone here."
She replied, staring over at Kros. It was obvious that it was him who troubled her.

"You're welcome", replied De, looking in the same direction as Kairi. It seemed that she was looking at Kros....and Maria.
Oh, I see. She must've had feelings for Kros. Heartbreak..
"So, it's Kros, eh?", asked De, sympathetically, "Don't dwell on it too long. There will be others. It's not like you can't be happy again.". He smiled, looking around. There really wasn't much to do but drink punch and dance. He wondered if there would be a gift exchange.
"Would you like to dance? There isn't much else to do, and I'm sure a little fun couldn't hurt at a time like this.., De questioned, motioning towards the dance floor.
