Maria drug her feet through the snow, that now covered the beach. Ice had frozen over the water about fifty feet from shore. But it wasnt thick enough yet for ice skating.
Dropping her head to the ground, she poked her pocket. Clover growled, and then jumped out. She'd awaken him from sleep. He shook himself out, and then grew. His leopard from now intact, he walked quietly beside Maria.
Maria's feet were covered with little purple slippers, which made no sound as she walked upon the earth. Moving some earth, it shook the snow off of it. She sat down, and Clover layed next to her, keeping her warm.

((And I shall never change. Seemed like a good follow-up line to the title, lol. No more attempted poeticness...))
De shivered as he walked through the snow, even with the thick fur robe he had conjured for himself. Mieux stayed close to his master's side, a blanket draped over his back. His breath completely visible, De looked for a place to rest.
Hey, it's Maria.
De waved, running over to her. He then conjured some hot coal on the ground below him, causing the snow to melt, except for a thin layer. Plopping himself down next to Maria, he turned to her and joked, "Nice weather, isn't it?" The snow was actually kind of nice, but De just wasn't used to the cold.

Maria smiled when De sat next to her. Mieux was next to him, and Clover growled slightly at the creature. Tapping Clover's snout softly, she quieted him.
Oh yes, quite nice. Laughing, she petted Clover's neck, feeling him purr contentadly.

Mieux stayed by De's side, not even batting an eye at Clover's growl. He would not harm anyone, but, he would kill if his master said so. De turned to Maria, asking, "So what brings you out here?"
