Kameron Wiles sat at a table in the Dining Hall, alone. She was having a cross between lunch and dinner; a linner. On the tray in front of her sat a small bowl of spaghetti and a glass of water. She took out her wand, deciding to attempt a simple spell. "Swishon," she said, with a flick of her wand. The water in her glass trembled a bit, but did nothing more. She tucked her wand back into her robes and continued sitting alone.

A brunette that looked to be the age of sixteen wandered through the halls of the school, not sure what to do. Just glancing at her, it would seem that she was a bit upset. Okay, a bit could be a slight term. She wasn't really that upset, but she was bored with the routine at the school. Basically, she wanted to graduate and get out into the real world. Yeah, like that was going to happen this year. There was about as much of a chance of that happening as a meteor coming down and landing on top of her. Yeah, slim chances. She sighed lightly as she stopped in the doorway leading down to the Dining Hall. She wasn't really that hungry, but maybe someone would be down there to take some of the boredom away. Hopefully.
And so, Katherine McCoy, one of the richest girls in the school, decided she would head down to the Dining Hall to get some food, though she wasn't sure what she would actually eat when she got down there. At least there was a chance of someone being down there. Right?? She mumbed something under her breath, though it wasn't really able to be heard. A moment later, she muttered, "Lets hope someone's there...." That may have been what she had been saying before, or maybe not. No one could tell, and no one would dare to bug her at the moment, as her blue eyes glanced around, her feet taking her into the Dining Hall. With a glance around she noticed that it was suprisingly empty, except for a lone girl sitting at a table. She had just put her wand back in her pocket. With a shake of her head, Katherine decided she may as well go up and see who the girl was, as she only really hung out with her close group of friends. Never hurt to have an extra friend though.
Being a pureblood, as well as rich, Katherine Ann McCoy wasn't used to the harder parts of life, such as working for what she wanted. After her beginning at this school, she soon learned this, making her parents even more proud of her. And with the new school came a bit more subborness and adventure, something that wasn't always present in her home life when she was tutored at home. Then again, she didn't really mind the new her, though she wans't one to meddle with some of the poorer students. Just about everyone in the school knew her name, partially for her grades, which were usually excellent, but more for her personatity. She had a nasty temper that could flare at a moment's notice. Then again, she never really cared about things like that.
With a light shrug, Katherine made her way over to the table where the girl sat, who looked only a year or two younger than herself. She smiled slightly before she let that fade to barely a smile as she spoke, "Excuse me. May I join you??" Her french accent stuck out a small bit in this school, as it was away from her home. Her family had moved back to their original home though, where she was born. That was fine, though their house in France would always be considered her true home, no matter how many other places she lived.

Kam looked up quickly, her eyes big and opened wide. "No, not at all," she replied, trying not to sound anxious. She couldn't help but let a bit of excitement slip out into her words, as though it seemed in her mind that excitement wasn't present in the Dining Hall at this moment. She beckoned for the girl to sit down. It was sort of awkward, because nobody was usually in the Dining Hall at this time, when she sometimes decided to enjoy a quick linner. Though her linners alone were no more than a quiet time to think. There was never more than five people in the Dining Hall at this time of day. It was free period, so no classes were in session at the time, but Kameron figured the others would much rather spend their freetime in a much more entertaining environment.
After a few brief seconds of silence, she said, "I'm Kameron Wiles. Kam, for short." It was a strange habit of her to introduce herself to any newcomer into her area that she had not already done so to. Even though she was mischievious and tended to be caught in trouble not so rarely, she also was shy at times, or to put it in other words, a quiet thinker. She waited for a response from the brunette girl next to her.

Katherine looked over at the girl for a moment before she eased herself down in the seat that was next to the girl. She had just introduced herself to the brunette. Wonderful, since now she had to give away her name, as she figured that this girl would know her name from talk around the school. Kameron Wiles.... Where have I heard that name before....?? she thought for a moment before she shrugged it off. She didn't need to be thinking at the moment. She just wanted to get on with the moment.
Turning to glance at the girl, Katherine brushed a strand of auburn hair out of her sparkling blue eyes. She was in the mood for some trouble, but she would have to wait until dinnertime, as now she was already sort-of eating early. When she spoke, her voice cut through the silence in the Dining Hall, "I'm Katherine McCoy. Kate for short. Plaisir de vous rencontrer." She spoke the last part in a Common french phrase, meaning 'Pleasure to meet you.' It was me of a habit than anything else, as you might add. She spoke again, correcting herself, "I'm sorry. Pleasure to meet you...." She hadn't really meant to speak in French, but it had just slipped a small bit, as it was the language that she grew up with, besides English. She smiled for a moment before she decided to play with a wave of her auburn hair.
((By the way, where does this take place??))

((OOC: On an island in an unknown body of water. Students with magical talents from all over the world are welcome to attend Krystle Academy. I'm working on making a "History Book" thread so that people can read about Krystle Academy and stuff. ) Kam pushed a stray locked of tinted dirty-blond hair away from her left eye. She blinked hard a few times, as if she had something trapped beneath her eyelid. Wow, French... this ought to be an interesting girl, she thought to herself, coughing slightly. She did think the girl looked the slightest bit familiar, though, like a relative from your second birthday party would look familiar, in that weird sort of unknown way. It was only a matter of seconds before Kameron realized that she was squinting right at the girl. She had not noticed herself staring, she had gotten lost in her thoughts and zoned off. It was one of those times when you start thinking about something, and you don't pay any attention to what you're doing or looking at. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said quickly, blinking out of her "zone." "I must've spaced. Happens after you eat, ya know?" She took a last bite of her spaghetti, chewed rather slowly, let it slither down her throat savouringly. She washed it all down by taking a daintly sip of water every few seconds or so. "Excuse me," she said, "I'll be right back." Kam stood up to take care of her food tray. After dumping her trash into the garbage bins, which dispose of your trash by making them completely vanish once they touch the garbage bag, she washed her hands at a sink that seemed to "know" when someone needed to clean their hands. A towel unfolded its way out of the despenser and drier Kameron's hands without her moving a pinky. She made her way back to the table and sat down next to Katherine, brushing off the skirts of her robes. "Katherine is my middle name," she blurted out out of nowhere. She half-smiled, almost laughing at herself. She waited to see Katherine's reaction, but decided to speak, for fear that Katherine would think she is strange and clueless about a polite conversation, as you speak with someone when you first meet them. But, she didn't want this entire conversation to be the dainty sort of back-and-forth chat that she imagined two British old women introducing themselves to each other doing everytime she thought on the subject. And there she went, almost making herself laugh once more. She coughed, trying to cover up a quiet giggle that slipped out of her mouth. She surely didn't want it to seem as if she was laughing at Katherine, which she definitely wasn't. More like laughing at herself, or her own thoughts. Kameron didn't want this conversation to be boring and, in Kam's thoughts, "like two British old women introducing themselves to each other." She hoped she could think of some sort of response to her own dumb mistake. But then again, she thought, if she thought that simply telling the girl that Katherine was her middle name was a mistake, wouldn't that make this conversation seem "British"? This thought came upon Kameron suddenly, right as she was going to begin speaking to try to recover from her blurt-out. So, she decided to see Katherine's reaction to her sudden outburst about her middle name. She closed up her mouth, after all she decided to remain quiet since she didn't want a "proper" and very "adult-like" conversation. But then, she wondered, if she should speak, since she had to say something for this chat to not be the quiet, shy type. She was stuck between two things. Speak, or don't speak. Both seemed to her the "British" type, and both seemed to be the right thing to do to prevent it being "British." After a quick debate inside her head, she just sat there, deciding not to speak. maybe she needed to get to know the girl's personality a bit better before judging what she should say, or in this case not say. Maybe this girl liked the settle, "old woman" thing. But she waited, hands folded in her lap, to see Katherin'e reaction. ((This must be one of my longest posts in quite a long time. ))

[[I'm sorry that it's a small bit short, as I'm brain-dead, but I just rememberd that I needed to reply. I'm so sorry that I took so long. Too many projects and stuff to do....]]
Katherine just looked at Kameron for a moment as she watched her go take her tray up and proceed to come back and sit down. The girl's words stayed in her mind though. She knew the name from somewhere, and even now that the girl's middle name was obvious, she felt like she knew it more than ever. She sighed lightly for a moment and repsonded, "That's interesting.... My middle name's Mae.... Named after my great-grandmother.... What about you?? Where did your name come from??" Katherine was trying to hold up a polite conversation, but she didn't know how it was working at first. She was a bit tired, you know, from all the traveling, but she wasn't worried that she would miss out on anything that night, as there were only so many things you could do the first night back at school. And she did miss her home in France, as it had been a safe haven for her in her life, although it was hard to believe that a huge mansion could bring anyone any kind of comfort. She sighed for a short moment again and glanced at the girl, realizing she wasn't really that hungry after all. Oh well, she decided, it wasn't like she hadn't eaten a going away dinner at her home earlier that morning. She smiled lightly for a moment and glanced around the hall again, letting her eyes fall back on the girl as she waited for the girl's repsponse to her question.

(OOC: It's all right. It's sometimes hard to keep up with your roleplays. ) Kameron thought back to her earlier years, trying to remember why her mom had said she had been named Kameron Katherine. She could just picture the scene in her head from when she was seven years old, asking her parents why her name was so odd. Her parents has replied by saying that the name Katherine went way back in their family, and Kameron had been her great-grandmother's name. Kam half-smiled at her flashback, recalling how she had thrown a fit about how her name was spelled differently and how her great-grandma had to have such an uncommon first name spelling. Though she enjoyed taking the time to think back to her younger stages, there was a question that was waiting to be answered. "Kameron was my great-grandmother's first name, I believe," she began, "and all I can remember being told about the name Katherine is that is goes way back in my family." She considered stopping at that, but decided more could be added. "I never particularly liked by name, and I can remember that when I was younger I would get fussy over it." She giggled slightly. She hesitated, trying wuickly to think of something else to add on to her response. "My great-grandmother passed away just before I was born, so that's why I was named after her. My parents considered Kameron to be my middle name before her death, but then when an unexpected heart attack struck there was no doubt that Kameron would be my first name, and the traditional Katherine would be my middle. There was either a middle or first name Katherine in almost every generation of my family all the way back to before all of my currently living relatives were born. I'll have to try and look back to some family trees sometimes, because that's all I know on the topic right now."Kam was proud of her answer, and hoped Katherine would have something more to say and not know what she could say. When in conversation, Kameron always tried to reply with something that would make the person she was talking to want to say more, so that the entire conversation wouldn't put them to sleep. But this conversation was going nicely. And hopefully it would continue that way. Kam waited for Katherine's reply.

Katherine glanced over at the girl and smiled, her blue eyes glancing around the hall once more. She realized that she wasn't really extremely hungry at the moment, but she didn't know why her appetite had disappeared after such a small bit of time. Her blue eyes glanced around as she smiled back over at the girl, wondering what else there was to say. Looking back at where your family came from was always exciting, but when you were a pure French girl, there wasn't much to look back on. Her family was entirely French, which was both a downset and a good thing. A lot of guys liked the way that French girls spoke and had manners, especially pure witches. She smiled again and spoke quickly, "Sounds.... Interesting." She was drawing a blank at the moment, but hopefully she would come up with something to say soon.

((OOC: OMG It's been a long while since there was a reply in this roleplay!! I thought you left for good!!!!! ;D I kinda lost track of where we were, but...))
Kameron wasn't hungry anymore either. She glanced around the Dining Hall as well. She hoped to get better aquainted with Katherine sooner or later, and maybe they could become friends. She decided to begin a more interesting conversation.
"So, what do you like best about Krystle so far?"
she asked curiously. She shifted her position and waited forKatherine's reply.

"So what do you like best about Krystle so far?"
Katherine smiled over at Kameron and shrugged slightly, her hazel eyes glancing around. She truthfully didn't give that much thought in the recent few days, now that she was more situated at the school and such. She wasn't sure exactly what she liked about the school, though she knew it was becoming more of a second home by the day, even if she missed her home in France. She smiled lightly again and replied, "Well.... I really love the variety of people that are here. It just is not like the schools back in France, with everyone being the same I mean. It is wonderful to meet so many new people." It was definately true for her. She loved that people were coming to Krystle from all over the globe, which made the school a bit more exciting.
